Job summary

Infrastructure Ontario seeks a Capital Project Risk Management Specialist to advance risk practices across its portfolio. You will facilitate risk assessments, manage risk registers, and perform quantitative cost and schedule risk analyses to guide contingency planning and reporting.

You will collaborate with delivery teams and external stakeholders to promote proactive mitigation and continuous improvement of risk frameworks and analytics.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Several years of experience in project controls, risk management, infrastructure delivery, construction, engineering, or related environment.
  • Experience facilitating risk assessments and maintaining project risk registers within complex project environments.
  • Knowledge of quantitative cost and schedule risk analysis methodologies and associated software tools.
  • Familiarity with project controls disciplines such as cost management, scheduling, forecasting, and change management.
  • Experience preparing project reporting, dashboards, and analytical materials to support decision-making.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence project teams and build collaborative relationships across multiple disciplines.
  • Experience with QCRA, QSRA, ARM or similar risk management applications is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate project-level risk assessments and support implementation of risk management processes across assigned projects.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor project risk registers, ensuring risks are identified, assessed, and managed throughout the lifecycle.
  • Conduct quantitative risk analysis for cost and schedule risks and support contingency planning, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Manage and maintain risk management systems and databases with timely, complete project information.
  • Prepare project risk reports, metrics, and analyses to support decision-making and governance.
  • Collaborate with project teams, controls professionals, technical specialists, and external stakeholders to promote proactive risk mitigation.
  • Deliver risk management training, workshops, and guidance to ensure consistent application of frameworks.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to risk management processes, tools, reporting and analytics.

Job description

Position Purpose:

The Capital Project Risk Management Specialist supports the implementation and continuous improvement of risk management practices across Infrastructure Ontario's capital project portfolio. The rolefacilitatesproject-level risk assessments, manages risk registers and reporting, conducts quantitative risk analysis, and works closely with project delivery teams toidentify, assess, and mitigate project risks. The position promotes consistent application of risk management frameworks, tools, and best practices across a variety of asset classes and delivery models.

Who You Are:
  • University degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related disciplinean asset.
  • Severalyears of experience in project controls, risk management, infrastructure delivery, construction, engineering, or a related environment.
  • Experiencefacilitatingrisk assessments and maintaining project risk registers within complex project environments.

We offer a competitive hiring range of$105,100 to $116,200(PM2level), pay will align with skills,knowledgeand experience of the candidate.
