Job description

Bring Financial Clarity to Canada’s Most Ambitious Dairy Investment

At Vitalus, we're embarking on a once-in-a-generation opportunity: the construction of a state-of-the-art dairy processing facility that will set new industry benchmarks. We’re looking for a Capital Finance Manager to lead the financial oversight of this transformative capital project.

This role is responsible for ensuring strong financial governance throughout the multi-year build, helping the business make informed decisions, meet financial obligations, and maintain transparency with internal and external stakeholders. If you're ready to turn complexity into confidence, keep reading.

About You

We’re looking for someone who brings both structure and insight to complex financial work. You’re confident managing large capital budgets, have strong analytical skills, and know how to work collaboratively with technical and non-financial teams. You value accuracy, accountability, and practical solutions.

What You’ll Do

1. Lead Capital Budget Oversight

  • Manage the full capital project budget, ensuring alignment with scope, timeline, and financial goals.
  • Build and maintain forecasting models, monitor budget vs. actual performance, and provide variance analysis.
  • Oversee accurate tracking of costs and ensure proper capitalization of assets in accordance with accounting standards.

2. Support Decision-Making

  • Prepare financial reports and dashboards that clearly communicate project financials to executives, lenders, and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor funding flows, validate draw requests, and ensure financial processes meet both internal controls and external requirements.
  • Identify financial risks and support corrective actions to keep the project financially on track.

3. Maintain Financial Integrity

  • Review and validate contractor invoices, internal allocations, and other cost documentation.
  • Ensure financial records are audit-ready and aligned with accounting, funding, and legal obligations.
  • Coordinate with the EPMO, Legal, Treasury, and Procurement as needed to meet project requirements.

What You’ll Bring

  • CPA designation is required; PMP or experience supporting capital-intensive environments (manufacturing, infrastructure, or construction) is a strong asset.
  • 5+ years in a senior finance role overseeing capital budgets, investment reporting, or long-term infrastructure builds of $100M or more.
  • Expertise in capital budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and capital asset reporting in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Strong interpersonal and business acumen skills—able to collaborate with cross-functional teams, external partners, and executive leaders to support sound financial decision-making.
  • Proven ability to build scalable financial models, reporting frameworks, and governance structures that support large, complex, multi-year initiatives.

Why Join Vitalus?

This isn’t just another finance job—it’s a career-defining opportunity to steward the largest capital investment in the Canadian dairy industry. It’s a chance to apply your finance expertise to a major capital build, while developing long-term processes and insights that will support the company’s future.

If you’re ready to bring clarity, control, and confidence to a project that will shape the future of dairy, we want to hear from you.
