Job summary

Sobeys Inc. in Canmore is seeking a Meat Wrapper to provide outstanding customer service while accurately wrapping, labeling, and dating meat and poultry products.

You will maintain product presentation, follow food safety protocols, and help keep the department organized in a fast-paced store environment. The role requires physical stamina, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and teamwork to support store sales and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Customer service orientation and ability to meet customer needs.
• Knowledge of basic food safety procedures and SOPs.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs; able to stand long periods.

Responsibilities

• Wrap, package, label and date meat and poultry products.
• Provide exceptional customer service and foster loyalty.
• Keep work area clean and presentable; rotate products per standards.
• Record information in logs and assist with stock ordering/receiving.
• Support training of junior staff and promote store sales.

The Meat Wrapper is responsible for carrying out the full range of duties of the position in a professional, accurate and timely fashion. The Meat Wrapper will deliver exceptional customer service, foster customer loyalty, fulfill customer needs and actively contribute to an environment of employee and customer engagement.

Here’s where you’ll have an impact:

• Adherence to all Food Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, corporate policies and Health and Safety, and other programs and initiatives
• Provide customer service to meet customer needs
• Accurately wraps, packages, prices, labels, and dates all meat and poultry products in a financially responsible manner
• Keep work area clean and presentable at all times
• Handle, organize, and rotate products in accordance with company standards
• Accurately records information in all appropriate logs
• Perform program execution and merchandising product, following company presentation standards
• Handle and prepare deli products in accordance with company quality standards and food safety protocols
• Increase store sales by actively promoting products
• Participate in the training of junior staff
• Order and receive stock in accordance with company inventory control procedures
• Maintain and prepare meat products for service case, if applicable
• Other duties as required
