Wal-Mart Canada Corp is seeking a Self‑Checkout Attendant to support a positive shopping experience in the self‑service area. You will assist customers, maintain a clean and safe checkout zone, and help promote store programs while handling alarms and Scan & Go equipment.

The role is in Vancouver, BC, with shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays. The position starts at a minimum pay rate of 18.40 CAD per hour and offers opportunities to grow within a fast-paced retail environment.

• Promote Walmart Programs and Initiatives: support credit card services, product protection plans and charitable initiatives when applicable.
• Support Customers at Self Checkout: assist customers with self checkout, monitor activity and complete checks; explain interventions clearly and escalate cash or technical issues to the Customer Service Manager.
• Respond to EAS Alerts and Complete Documentation: respond to alarms and accurately complete the Failure to Deactivate log.
• Manage Scan & Go Equipment: ensure Scan & Go scanners are returned to their designated storage locations.

What you’ll do

Maintain Self Checkout Area Standards: Maintains a clean, safe, and organized self checkout area, ensuring it remains free of fixtures, unnecessary debris, foreign objects, and spills.

Promote Walmart Programs and Initiatives: Supports the promotion of company sponsored programs, including credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable initiatives, when applicable.

Support Customers at Self Checkout: Helps customers use self checkout quickly and confidently by offering assistance when needed, monitoring activity, and completing required checks. Clearly explain any interventions in a friendly, reassuring way and escalates cash or technical issues to the Customer Service Manager.

Respond to EAS Alerts and Complete Documentation: Responds to EAS alarms in accordance with procedures and accurately completes the “Failure to Deactivate” log.

Manage Scan & Go Equipment: Ensures Scan & Go scanners are returned to their designated storage locations after use.

• Be open to working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs. Your adaptability helps ensure the store runs smoothly and customers receive consistent, high‑quality service.

• Performs repetitive tasks such as stocking, zoning, and organizing products with attention to detail and consistency to uphold store standards.
