Job description

Position Summary... A Self-Checkout Attendant assists customers in processing transactions through the self-service area(s) and provides exceptional customer service to ensure a positive shopping experience and foster customer loyalty, while adhering to the Basic Beliefs and values of Wal-Mart.

What you'll do...

1. Keep the area clean, organized, and free of fixtures, unnecessary debris, foreign objects, and liquids.
2. Educate customers on the correct and efficient use of self-service options, when applicable.
3. Promote company-sponsored programs, such as credit card services, product protection, and charity initiatives, when applicable.
4. Observe customer activities to determine when and if assistance is needed.
5. Politely explain the reasons for self-service interventions and quality checks, reassuring customers that these are normal procedures.
6. Respond to EAS alarms and complete the "Failure to Deactivate" Log as needed.
7. Notify the Customer Service Manager if the self-service area is low on cash or experiences technical issues.
8. Return Scan & Go scanners to their designated storage after use.
