Job summary

Walmart Canada in Edmonton is seeking a fashion department lead to assist in leading the Fashion areas, respond to inquiries, and develop associates through teaching and training. You will plan department activities, support the salesfloor, and ensure customer service excellence while completing tasks.

The role emphasizes directing task completion, merchandising, team communications, and collaboration with the Coach and Store Management Team to drive store results.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent Customer Service by greeting customers, assisting with product promotions and locating merchandise.
• Assist in coordinating daily tasks and delegating to team members per priorities from the Coach and Store Management.
• Assess department presentation, merchandise displays, and adjust visuals as needed to uphold standards.
• Maintain strong communication with associates; lead daily Team Huddle and share updates and goals.
• Review schedules with People Lead and assign associates to coverage tasks.
• Identify training opportunities during area tours and coach associates accordingly.
• Support safety, cleanliness, and adherence to policies; complete safety logs and secure fixtures.
• Complete GTA/Workday tasks and support management.
• Assist with recruiting and hiring processes for new associates.

Position Summary

Assists in the leadership of the Fashion areas and department processes, responds to problems and inquiries and develops associates through teaching and training. Ensures a high level of customer service while ensuring task completion.

Plans and executes department activities based on workload and operational functions and assists on the salesfloor as required.

What You'll Do

• Providing excellent Customer Service by greeting all customers in a polite and friendly manner, assisting customers by promoting products/services, locating merchandise and making purchase decisions, resolving customer issues and referring concerns where appropriate.
• Assists in providing direction and the co-ordination of task completion as per communicated priorities from the Coach and the Store Management Team. Delegate, assist and follow-up on completion of daily Customer Availability process tasks.
• Assesses the overall presentation of Fashion Departments and appearance, noting deficiencies for corrective action and executing merchandising display changes where required.
• Ensures strong communication with associates, leads the daily Team Huddle at the start of each shift, and provides the team with updates, set goals, and track productivity.
• Review completed schedules with People Lead.
• Assign Associates to support coverage and availability tasks in all areas of the store.
• Tours assigned areas with the Coach and team associates to validate and identify training opportunities. Develops associates through teaching and training and provides feedback as needed.
• Contributes to a safe, clean and hazard free work environment through adherence to Company policy and procedures, including the completion of safety sweep logs and ensuring displays and fixtures are secure and free of debris.
• Complete GTA/Workday tasks and supports Management.
• Partner with Coach/People Lead to facilitate performance management and growth conversations for Associates. Supports recruiting and hiring of new associates.

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts from $19.25.
