Job summary

Walmart Canada in Courtenay, BC, is hiring a Deli Bakery Associate to provide exemplary customer service while maintaining and stocking the Bakery and Deli areas. You will assist customers, manage product placement, and support with ordering and prep tasks.

The role involves adhering to food safety standards, performing temperature checks, labeling, and preparing deli and bakery items. The position starts at CAD 18.70 per hour, with a focus on accuracy, quality, and teamwork within the Walmart

Responsibilities

• Zones the department to ensure product shelves, tables and bunkers are organization and product is in the correct location
• Rotates stock and checks for expired products
• Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced
• Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates
• Takes orders for Deli Department merchandise; preparing hot food merchandise and providing requested assistance
• Prepares deli food orders utilizing utensils; preparing chicken by using rotisserie oven; and fill prepared side dishes for placement into display area
• Prepares bakery merchandise by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines to ensure the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise, such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls
• Follows proper procedures for; Ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels
