Job summary

The University of King’s College in Halifax invites applications for a Campus Social Worker (full-time permanent, 35 hours per week). The role provides direct social work support, case management and crisis response to students, employing trauma-informed, anti-oppressive approaches to promote wellbeing and academic participation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Social Work and current registration with NS College of Social Workers.
• Minimum of three years direct client support in social work, preferably with young adults or post-secondary students.
• Experience applying trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, culturally responsive and harm-reduction approaches.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct social work support to students through assessment, short-term intervention, case management and wellbeing plans.
• Coordinate care and make referrals within King’s, Dalhousie, healthcare and community services.
• Respond to crises and connect students with appropriate resources and services.
• Develop and deliver education that strengthens early identification, inclusive practice and appropriate response on campus.
• Oversee peer-based wellbeing initiatives and contribute to institutional priorities on mental health and student success.
