Job summary

MacEwan University is seeking a Student Outreach Assistant, Digital Engagement for a casual on-campus role within Student Life. You will help share the student experience through authentic, engaging content across our platforms and events.

You will support peer-to-peer digital engagement, draft posts, monitor spaces, and collaborate with staff to promote events and services while fostering an inclusive online student community.

Qualifications

• Strong written communication and the ability to engage peers clearly.
• Ability to follow guidelines and escalate issues when needed.
• Professional and respectful online/offline presence.
• Confidence representing Student Life at events.
• Willingness to learn new digital tools and platforms.

Responsibilities

• Monitor Student Life digital spaces and campus feeds.
• Draft and publish student-focused posts promoting events, services, and deadlines.
• Respond to routine student questions using approved messaging and guidelines.
• Encourage student participation through polls and engagement activities.
• Review user-generated content and escalate concerns to Student Life staff.
• Create digital graphics using Canva.
• Draft captions and short-form content aligned with branding.
• Collaborate with Student Life staff to brainstorm content ideas.
• Adapt content for different platforms while maintaining a student-centered tone.
• Attend select Student Life events to capture photos/videos and share approved content.
