Job description

Campus Recruiter and Student Programs Specialist

As the Campus Recruiter and Student Programs Specialist in Early Talent at OTPP, you’ll help students take their first career steps while building Ontario Teachers future talent pool. You’ll manage intern, co-op and new graduate recruitment, build campus relationships, and deliver programming that connects students to our organization. Combining hands-on recruitment with student engagement, employer branding and data-informed improvements, you’ll help shape how we attract, assess and develop early talent.

Who you'll work with

Working closely with the Manager, Early Talent, you’ll combine hands-on delivery with opportunities to improve how we attract, assess and engage early talent, and be part of our global Talent Acquisition team. You will partner with hiring managers, business leaders, HR business partners, experienced hire recruiters, executive assistants, Marketing & Communications, our OTPP campus ambassadors, and campus partners to translate workforce needs into effective recruitment plans and deliver a consistent candidate and hiring manager experience.

What you'll do

Campus Recruitment:

  • Manage intern and new graduate recruitment cycles from intake through offer, including role postings, resume screening, digital interviews, interview coordination and candidate communications.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with assigned schools and campus partners, gather insights on academic programs and student engagement, and provide recommendations to inform the broader campus strategy.
  • Build and maintain relationships with target student clubs, investment funds, technical communities, professional associations and other campus partners.
  • Identify potential sponsorships and events for the Manager’s consideration; organize and prepare employee representatives for career fairs, information sessions, panels and outreach.
  • Proactively identify, source and engage high-potential students and early talent, building and nurturing diverse talent pipelines ahead of current and anticipated hiring needs.
  • Equip campus representatives with clear, accurate and consistent messaging about the organization, hiring process, student eligibility and employee experience.
  • Develop presentations, toolkits, event materials, candidate communications and recruitment content, partnering with Marketing & Communications to promote opportunities, events and employee stories.
  • Guide hiring teams in assessing early talent based on potential, learning agility, technical foundations, project experience and transferable skills, and provide recommendations to support internship-to-full-time conversion and longer-term pipeline decisions.
  • Support annual workforce planning by gathering and validating business requirements and translating approved plans into detailed recruitment timelines, student profiles, target programs, assessment stages, term lengths and start dates.
  • Analyze hiring outcomes, candidate feedback, market intelligence, school insights and program data to identify trends to recommend improvements to recruitment plans, talent pipelines and future cycles, and inform our campus strategy, target schools, and student programs.
  • Track and report on program metrics, including source of hire, hiring outcomes and student evaluations, while following established processes, identifying solutions and escalating exceptions when appropriate.
  • Partner with the Talent Systems team to support recruitment technology enhancements, including user acceptance testing, troubleshooting and process improvements that enhance the candidate and hiring team experience, as needed.

Early Talent / Intern Program Management:

  • In partnership with our Talent & Leadership learning team, plan, design, and deliver internal and external events, such as student orientation, onboarding, professional development workshops, and networking events.
  • Oversee event logistics and coordination support.
  • Act as a key point of contact for candidates, referrals and students, providing timely information and escalating sensitive employee or student matters to the appropriate HR business partner or Employee Relations team.
What you'll need
  • Ability to deliver high-volume recruitment activities while simultaneously planning for upcoming cycles and longer-term talent needs; campus recruitment experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong planning, coordination and event management skills, with the adaptability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in financial services or similar industry is an asset.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Strong hiring manager consultation and stakeholder management skills, with the emotional intelligence to build trust, exercise discretion and handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with confidence presenting to large groups.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with comfort using AI-enabled tools.
  • Experience using an applicant tracking system; Workday experience is an asset.
  • Experience with digital interview platforms and event or candidate relationship management tools, such as HireVue and Beamery, is an asset.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and travel within Ontario for campus events.
