Job summary

Simon Fraser University is seeking a Campus Public Safety Supervisor, Liaison to oversee frontline safety, asset protection and emergency response. You will act as a senior first responder, Incident Commander, and mentor staff across SFU Vancouver and Surrey campuses.

The role requires trauma-informed leadership, strong investigation skills, and deep knowledge of safety regulations. Flexible hybrid work may be offered, with essential on-site duties and occasional after-hours responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of investigation standards and procedures, emergency preparedness and response approaches.
• Trauma-informed, inclusive and compassionate service delivery aligned with Indigenous safety practices.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff and contract security personnel.
• Strong understanding of statutes, by-laws, and university policies related to campus safety.

Responsibilities

• Act as a senior first responder, Incident Commander, and investigator for campus incidents.
• Coordinate resources, mentor security staff, and liaise with internal and external partners.
• Support campus safety initiatives across SFU Vancouver and SFU Surrey campuses.

Education

Bachelor's degree in the Social Sciences, Health Sciences or a Public Safety field
