Job summary

Algonquin College is seeking a part-time Student Printer Fleet Technician on the Ottawa campus to maintain printer uptime and support student printing services. You will monitor printers, replenish supplies, perform basic maintenance, and assist with connecting to campus Wi-Fi and printing software, reporting issues to the Print Services team.

The role requires good problem-solving, clear communication, and the ability to work up to 24 hours per week, with OSAP or financial need considerations

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain all student printers.
  • Maintain printer uptime by replenishing supplies and paper.
  • Replace toner cartridges as needed.
  • Report problems with printers to the Print Services team.
  • Coordinate tasks with other Student Printer Support technicians.
  • Collect data on student printing activity.
  • Report on printer activity to Print Services.
  • Perform basic printer maintenance: clear jams, clear errors, replace consumables, power cycle.
  • Clean and organize printer work areas and surfaces.
  • Monitor printer lab print activity and signage.
  • Assist students with connecting to Algonquin College WIFI and printing software.
  • Assist students with printing, scanning and copying functions.
