Job summary

Calgary French & International School (CFIS) is seeking a part-time Campus Operations & Facilities Assistant to help maintain a safe, welcoming campus for students, families, and staff. In this highly visible role, you’ll support safety, traffic flow, and event setup, coordinate with renters, and assist with daily facilities operations and minor maintenance tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a safe and secure campus environment for students, staff, families, and visitors.
  • Assist with student drop-off/pick-up traffic and monitor parking lots during events.
  • Prepare facilities for events, performances, meetings, and rentals; set up furniture and signage.
  • Respond to operational requests and perform routine campus walkthroughs; support maintenance needs.

CFISis seeking an energetic, professional, and service-oriented individual for anassistant position to complement our Campus Operations & FacilitiesDepartments.

Position Summary

The Campus Operations & Facilities Assistant supportsthe daily operation of the school by ensuring a safe, secure, and welcomingenvironment for students, staff, families, and visitors.

Thishighly visible role serves as one of the primary operational contacts duringcommunity rentals and auxiliary programs, as well as supporting campus safety,traffic management, special events, and facility operations. The successfulcandidate enjoys working with people, demonstrates sound judgement, and takespride in providing exceptional service while contributing to the smoothoperation of the school.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to
Safety & Security
  • Promote a safe and secure campus environment for students,staff, families, and visitors.
  • Conduct regular security patrols of the building andgrounds.
  • Open, secure, and monitor school facilities as required.
  • Respond appropriately to safety, security, and emergencysituations.
  • Monitor visitor access and support school access controlprocedures.
  • Identify hazards and coordinate timely corrective actionwith the Director of Business Services or Associate Director: Facilitiesand Health & Safety, as appropriate.
  • Provide a visible and approachable presence throughout thecampus to promote safety, security, and positive interactions with students,staff, families, and visitors.
Traffic Control
  • Assist with student pick-up traffic to ensure safe andefficient vehicle and pedestrian movement.
  • Monitor parking lots for safety and compliance.
  • Coordinate traffic flow during school events and specialactivities.
  • Support emergency dismissal procedures when required.
Event & Community Support
  • Ensure renters are using space and equipment in anappropriate manner.
  • Prepare facilities for school events, performances,meetings, athletic competitions, and community rentals.
  • Set up furniture, staging, signage, and other eventrequirements.
  • Provide operational support during evening and weekendevents as required.
  • Ensure facilities are returned to operational readinessfollowing events.
  • Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, volunteers, andexternal users to deliver successful events.
Campus Operations
  • Respond promptly to operational requests from staff whilemaintaining a positive, solutions-focused approach.
  • Perform daily campus walkthroughs to ensure facilitiesremain clean, safe, and operational.
  • Complete minor maintenance repairs and preventativemaintenance within scope of training.
  • Identify facility deficiencies and submit maintenancerequests.
  • Assist community renters while ensuring compliance withschool procedures.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Experience in facilities operations, campus operations,security, hospitality, or a related field is considered an asset.
  • Experience working in a school, recreation, hospitality,customer service, or other public-facing environment is preferred.

Hours of Work

Theregular schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, generally 3:00p.m. to 9:00 p.m., although flexibility is required to support schoolevents, performances, rentals, and operational needs.

Occasional weekend work maybe required. During the summer months, the successful candidate may transitionto daytime hours to support campus projects and auxiliary programming.

The successful candidate willneed to provide an updated Police Information Check with Vulnerable SectorScreening prior to commencing work.

Compensation

Salary Range: $34,500 to $39,000 depending on experience andrelevant skills.

  • Two (2) weeks off inDecember when the school is closed, plus three (3) weeks of paid vacation.
