Job summary

Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) is seeking an Operational Support candidate for two term, full-time Facilities Support Assistant roles at Akerley Campus, Dartmouth, NS. Reporting to Facilities Manager, duties include cleaning, painting, room setup, and on-call support to ensure a safe, welcoming campus environment.

The selected candidate will bring a high school diploma or GED and one year of cleaning experience, with knowledge of MS Office and Megamation.

Qualifications

The minimum educational qualification is a high school diploma or GED, or willingness to attain one prior to Regular status.
Training in WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety regulations is assets.
First Aid and CPR and a valid NS driver’s license are assets.
One year of cleaning experience and custodial/maintenance exposure is preferred.
Experience with trades (carpentry, plumbing, electrical) is an asset.
Proficiency with MS Office, e-mail, and Megamation.
Experience providing general, preventative, and scheduled maintenance duties.

Responsibilities

Perform a full range of routine and special cleaning duties to keep the campus safe and hygienic.
Perform routine painting duties and room rental setups; hours vary; shift work and on-call duties as required.
