Job summary

SITE Resource Group Limited Partnership is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic for camp-based projects in Northern Alberta. You will troubleshoot, service, repair and maintain a diverse fleet of on- and off-road heavy equipment from a fully equipped service truck, working independently in the field.

Responsibilities include inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnosing mechanical systems, and keeping accurate records.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Experience working from a service truck and performing field repairs is an asset.
• Valid Class 5 driver's licence.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must be willing to work on a camp-based project in Northern Alberta.
• Must be able to work in various weather conditions.
• Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, including cannabis.
• Must be fit for duty and able to safely perform the physical requirements of the position.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a variety of on- and off-road heavy equipment and vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and other equipment systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues in the field and determine appropriate repair requirements.
• Complete routine servicing, including oil and filter changes, fluid checks, lubrication, brake inspections, and other preventative maintenance.
• Conduct inspections and repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications and applicable safety requirements.
• Operate and maintain a fully tooled service truck and ensure tools, equipment, and parts are properly maintained and organized.
• Use diagnostic equipment and other tools to accurately identify mechanical issues and complete repairs efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, maintenance activities, parts usage, and work orders.
• Prioritize repairs and maintenance based on project and operational requirements to minimize equipment downtime.
• Work independently in the field while maintaining communication with supervisors and other members of the maintenance team.
• Follow all company, site, and regulatory safety requirements.
