Overview

We are offering a fast paced, career elevating opportunity at our new highly automated state-of-the-art baking facility in Cambridge, Ontario. The expectation for every employee of this unique and flexible facility is to work cooperatively as part of the team to produce safe, high quality food products, efficiently and effectively.

As an integral team member, you will be required to help out as needed to accomplish this goal, regardless of the position, consistent with Dare values.

This is a unionized position with a starting rate of $24.25 per hour.

Key Ingredients
  • Receiving deliveries of raw materials and/or packaging supplies, including signing and filing BOL’s and other receiving documents
  • Use software to enter all shipments into the appropriate database (SAP, RMS & WMS)
  • Demonstrate food safety and quality concepts (e.g. cleaning and sanitation of equipment) in a baking facility
  • Support Process and Packaging Technicians by delivering materials on a timely basis
  • Ensure RMS (raw material system) and packaging lines are fed on a continuous basis
  • Perform inventory counts for system adjustment when required
  • Monitor and ensure material is available for immediate scheduling needs, and determine root cause of discrepancies that may exist
  • Evaluate current processes with a view towards continuous improvement of the facility's efficiency and performance.
  • Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of the equipment
  • Monitor inventory of sanitation chemicals and janitorial needs, and provide ordering requirements to purchaser
  • Perform regular maintenance on all sanitation equipment
  • Safely operate manual lifting equipment
  • Conduct equipment testing and provide support during the installation and set-up of equipment
Recipe for Success
  • Post-Secondary School Degree/Diploma
  • Must be able to operate Forklift.
  • Strong technical skills and an analytical approach to problem-solving
  • A history of meeting and exceeding challenging performance goals; a desire to “win”
  • Ability to perform tasks effectively both individually and as a member of a team
  • 1-3 years relevant working experience in a food environment as well as previous reach truck/counterbalance certification(s) will be considered assets.
  • Knowledge of the principles of Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing would be considered an asset
  • Strong communication skills
