Calypso is Canada’s biggest and best waterpark facility. Located in the Eastern Ontario region, halfway between Ottawa and Montreal, it's the summertime fun place to be!

Candidates must have their own transportation. There is no public transit to the park.

Availability: Monday to Sunday, various operational hours and holidays

Position Type: Seasonal

Reports To: Supervisor Hospitality

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Calypso hospitality provides excellence in customer service at our bars and cabanas throughout the park. They offer controlled bartending service at each outlet and provide cabana service of food and drinks to our Beach Front, Calypso Palace Suites, and Panorama cabanas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Report to assigned work area on time and in compliance with company dress code.
  • Comply with company and departmental standards on grooming.
  • Perform opening procedures to get your bar ready with fruit, ice, and stock.
  • Verify your opening cash drawer.
  • Greet guests with a welcoming smile and attitude.
  • Offer exceptional bar service and prepare specialized beverages.
  • Adhere to the Calypso Alcohol policy to prevent overserving of guests.
  • Maintain a clean bar area including tables, chairs, ground, and floors.
  • Order food from production and deliver to cabanas promptly.
  • Order inventory on a timely basis and replace BIB and kegs as necessary.
  • Track orders on POS system using debit/credit.
  • Balance end of shift cash drawer with reasons for any in/outs.
  • Clean bar and cabanas and restock for next day opening.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to work holidays and weekends.
  • Minimum 1 year past experience as a bartender.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Team player.
  • Organized and detail-oriented.
  • Good communication skills; bilingual French & English is an asset.
  • Must be 19 years or older and hold a Smart Serve certification.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • This position is outdoors in all summer weather.
  • This position requires frequent work in heat and sun.
  • This position requires occasional work in or around water.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time throughout the day.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in the park at various locations.

  • Requires occasional kneeling and bending.
  • Requires occasional walking, reaching above shoulder, pushing, and pulling.
  • Requires occasional lifts and carries up to 50 pounds.
