Calypso is Canada’s biggest and best waterpark facility. Located in the Eastern Ontario region, halfway between Ottawa and Montreal, it's the summertime fun place to be!

Candidates must have their own transportation. There is no public transit to the park.

Department: Resto

Availability: Monday to Sunday, various operational hours and holidays

Position Type: Seasonal

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Prepare and cook food in either a low, or high volume setting while providing the guests with the highest standard of food and beverage service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Report to assigned work area on time and in compliance with company dress code.
  • Comply with company and departmental standards on grooming.
  • Assist in the set-up and clean-up of assigned work area and elsewhere as requested by Supervisor.
  • Commit to memory all cooking times, temperatures, and sanitation codes. Cook Hot, Store Cold.
  • Event set-up as directed by Supervisor.
  • Keep work area organized and sanitary.
  • Check temperatures of product before and during service.
  • Assist runners at time of event service and during busy periods.
  • Inform Supervisor if supplies or product are running low.
  • Review all operating policies and procedures on a continuous basis to ensure safety and sanitation, efficiency and guest satisfaction.
  • Promote a positive work environment.
  • Practice safety methods and techniques to ensure work areas are safe. Eliminate unsafe physical conditions, equipment, and machine hazards; and other risks in human and operational performance which may cause injury to persons, damage to property, or cause other losses.
  • Follow Ministry of Health food handling practices.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to work holidays and weekends.
  • Must be at least 15 years of age or older.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Team player.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Obtains Food Handlers Certificate.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • This position requires continuous temperature changes.
  • This position requires frequent work in extreme heat, extreme cold, dryness, or humidity.
  • This position requires occasional work in or around wetness, detergents/chemicals, mechanical hazards, moving objects, kitchen fumes/odors.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time throughout the day.

  • Requires occasional walking, reaching above shoulder, pushing and pulling.
  • Requires occasional lifts and carries up to 50 pounds.
