Job summary

Valard Construction is seeking a Project Controller based in Calgary, AB to partner with project leadership on budget management, reporting, and controls across a portfolio of projects.

The role includes up to 50% travel to active project sites nationwide, with experience in JD Edwards or SAP and a CPA designation preferred. You will support month-end processes and strategic financial decisions.

Qualifications

• Post-Secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 5 years of progressive experience in the construction industry.
• CPA designation preferred or in progress.
• Experience with job costing, WIP reporting, and project analytics.

Responsibilities

• Review contract terms and obligations for financial reporting and billing.
• Manage budgets and WBS setup across a portfolio of projects.
• Lead month-end cost accruals and cost data accuracy with PMs and buyers.
• Prepare margin analysis and forecast revisions; support audits.
