Job summary

WSP is seeking a CAD Technician/Designer (Drafter) in Canada, with 4–8 years of drafting experience and strong Civil 3D skills. Based in BC, Alberta, or Ontario, you’ll develop precise drawings from surveys and field notes and help deliver multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.

You will collaborate with engineers and project managers, maintain CAD standards, and mentor junior staff while prioritizing safety and quality in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or CAD certificate required.
• 4–8 years of drafting experience in civil/environmental disciplines.
• Proven experience with Civil 3D (minimum 4 years).
• Proficient in Excel for engineering workflows.
• Experience producing drawing packages from survey data and field notes with minimal supervision.
• Asset familiarity with Plant 3D, Revit, ReCap, and other listed tools.

The Skills That Set You Apart

• A diploma or CAD certificate paired with 4-8 years of drafting experience in civil, environmental, or related disciplines.
• Proven expertise with Civil 3D (minimum 4 years) and a strong commitment to maintaining CAD standards.
• Ability to perform advanced calculations and data manipulation in Excel to support engineering workflows.
• Experience preparing complete drawing packages using survey data, client information, and field notes with minimal supervision.
• Asset experience with tools such as Plant 3D, Revit, ReCap, Vulcan, MinePlan, Global Mapper, Surfer, gINT, OpenGround, MicroStation, Autodesk Construction Cloud.
• Fluency in French is considered an asset.

Compensation

• AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT:$77,400-$102,500
• MB & ON:$70,600-$97,200
• NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC:$69,900-$92,900
