ONxpress Transportation Partners has been selected by Infrastructure Ontario and Metrolinx to lead the charge in modernizing rail service across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Areas with the On-Corridor Works project. What You’ll Do :

• Develop and prepare engineering designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data
• Create building information models (BIM), using computer software, to provide digital representations of physical and functional aspects of buildings and other engineering projects
• Operate computer-assisted design (CAD) and drafting workstations
• Develop and prepare design sketches
• Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets
• Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data
• Write technical reports
• Prepare contracts and tender documents
• Prepare construction specifications, costs and material estimates
• Supervise and train other technologists, technicians and drafters.

What You’ll Bring to the Team :

• Minimum of one year of AutoCAD drafting experience.
• Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering or Architectural program.
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD software and experience customizing AutoCAD, scripts, tools and Menu’s.
• Must have experience with AutoDesk Civil 3D.
• Basic understanding of municipality standards is considered an asset.
• Experience with drafting and design support principles, practices, process, methods and techniques.
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to following a prescribed set of global company standards, processes, and best practices
• Proficient with the use of computers and software, including MS Office (Word, Excel).
• Good understanding of how to read civil engineering drawings and site plans.
• Excellent safety and attendance record and previously demonstrated strong safety awareness.
