Job summary

Green Infrastructure Partners is seeking a CAD Specialist to provide drafting, design, and quantity-takeoff support for heavy civil projects. Working closely with engineers, project managers, estimators, and field teams, you will create clear, accurate, and professional drawings, models, and quantity information to support project planning, estimating, construction, and project delivery.

Your work will help ensure project teams have reliable design documentation and measurable quantities

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Drafting/Design, or a related discipline.
• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and Revit (required).
• Experience with Fuzor or other 4D/5D Estimating software is considered an asset.
• Experience with Propeller, LiDAR and Photogrammetry data sets is considered an asset.
• 5+ years of professional CAD experience in construction, engineering, or related fields.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain accurate 2D and 3D drawings and models using Autodesk Civil 3D and Revit.
• Produce site plans, layouts, grading plans, cross-sections, profiles, surfaces, corridors, pipe networks, details, and other technical drawings for civil, structural, and infrastructure projects.
• Perform quantity takeoffs from engineering drawings and models to support estimating, procurement, and construction activities.
• Extract, review, organize, and validate quantities from drawings and models, ensuring design scope alignment and identifying discrepancies.
• Prepare quantity reports, calculations, and visuals for estimating teams and client submissions.
• Update drawings, models, and quantity information throughout the project lifecycle to reflect changes.
• Collaborate with engineers, estimators, project managers, and field personnel to meet project requirements.
• Prepare visuals and technical documentation for planning, coordination meetings, and client presentations.
• Ensure CAD work follows company procedures, standards, and project-specific requirements.
• Support CAD template and workflow improvements.

What You'll Do

As a CAD Specialist, you will provide drafting, design, and quantity-takeoff support for heavy civil projects. Working closely with engineers, project managers, estimators, and field teams, you will create clear, accurate, and professional drawings, models, and quantity information to support project planning, estimating, construction, and project delivery.

Your work will help ensure project teams have reliable design documentation and measurable quantities throughout all stages of the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Develop and maintain accurate 2D and 3D drawings and models using Autodesk Civil 3D and Revit.
• Produce site plans, layouts, grading plans, cross-sections, profiles, surfaces, corridors, pipe networks, details, and other technical drawings for civil, structural, and infrastructure projects.
• Perform quantity takeoffs from engineering drawings, Civil 3D models, Revit models, and other project documentation to support estimating, procurement, project planning, and construction activities.
• Extract, review, organize, and validate quantities from drawings and digital models, ensuring information is complete, traceable, and aligned with project scope, design documentation, and estimating requirements. Identify discrepancies, incomplete design information, and quantity risks, and communicate findings to the appropriate project team members for resolution.
• Prepare quantity reports, supporting calculations, and visual documentation for estimating teams, project managers, and client submissions.
• Update and revise drawings, models, and quantity information throughout the project lifecycle to reflect design changes, field conditions, and evolving project requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers, estimators, project managers, and field personnel to ensure drawings, models, and quantity takeoffs meet project requirements, standards, and constructability needs.
• Prepare visuals, presentation materials, and technical documentation to support project planning, coordination meetings, and client presentations.
• Ensure all CAD, model, and quantity-takeoff work follows company procedures, industry drafting standards, and project-specific requirements.
• Support the continuous improvement of CAD templates, model libraries, quantity-takeoff workflows, and digital-delivery standards.
