Job summary

Green Infrastructure Partners is seeking a Site Coordinator in Toronto, ON to bridge design intent with field execution on complex SOE projects. You will lead field coordination, ensure safety and quality, and manage materials and scheduling on site.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of heavy civil experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, and the ability to travel between project sites. This is a site-based role requiring shift work and physical readiness.

Qualifications

  • B.Eng./B.Sc. in Engineering required or related discipline.
  • 2–5 years in heavy civil construction.
  • EIT considered with strong field record.
  • Work Authorization: Permanent Resident or Canadian citizen.
  • Training (assets): Working at Heights, Confined Space, WHMIS, First Aid; rail/transit safety certifications.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to travel across project sites.
  • Site-based role with shift work (nights/weekends) as required.
  • Physically able to work in heavy civil construction environments.

SUMMARY

Green Infrastructure Partners Inc. is seeking a high-caliber professional to lead the integration of design and field operations for complex Support-of-Excavation (SOE) projects. In this role, you will serve as the critical link between design intent and site execution for largescale infrastructure projects.

PRIMARY SCOPE OF ROLE
Field Engineering & Execution
  • Ensures that all GIP safety regulations are followed.
  • Perform field quality control tests, inspections, and day-to-day tasks associated with reinforcement installation and concreting.
  • Prepare and manage quality control, production records, and scheduling.
  • Orders materials and track inventory. Directly converse with suppliers to ensure delivery is executed per schedule requirements.
  • Ensure all installation follows GIP Quality Control Manual requirements and processes.
  • Coordinate plan, and sequence SOE system installation (soldier piles/lagging, secant/diaphragm walls, sheet piles, tiebacks/soil nails, struts/walers).
  • Oversee excavation activities, temporary works, utility protections, and traffic staging.
  • Lead ITPs, hold points, trials (e.g., concrete/rebar), material approvals, and field quality records.
Technical Coordination
  • Review drawings, models, and method statements; raise RFIs; coordinate shop drawings and temporary works designs.
  • Interface with design teams (geotech/structural), survey, and subcontractors to resolve field clashes and constructability issues.
  • Validate as-builts, survey control, and settlement/convergence control measures.
  • Contribute to risk registers, trigger/action response plans, and mitigation during adverse ground conditions.
Planning & Controls
  • Develop short-interval lookahead schedules; align crews, plant, and material logistics to milestones.
  • Track production, material usage, and subcontractor work.
  • Write daily timesheets, compile and submit time and material records.
  • Support cost control/changes (quantity tracking, time-impact analysis).
Safety & Compliance
  • Lead/participate in JHAs, toolbox talks, and incident investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with permits, environmental constraints, and municipal/rail/transit corridor requirements, as applicable.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Education: B.Eng./B.Sc. in Engineering or related Discipline
  • Experience: 2-5 years in heavy civil construction
  • Credentials: Preferred; EIT considered with strong field record.
  • Work Authorization: Permanent Resident of Canada (or Canadian citizen).
  • Training (assets): Working at Heights, Confined Space, WHMIS, First Aid; rail/transit safety certifications.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to travel across project sites.
  • Site-based role with shift work (nights/weekends) as required.

Technical Skills
  • Experience with AutoCAD / Civil 3D; Bluebeam; MS Project or Primavera P6 for short-interval planning.
  • Experience with estimating, quantity tracking, and claim development.
  • Strong survey coordination, tolerance management, and as-built workflows.
Soft Skills
  • Calm under pressure; decisive in the face of changing ground conditions and live-urban constraints.
  • Highly organized individual with excellent document management capabilities.
  • Strong communicator—able to align designers, supers, subs, and inspectors.
  • Detail-oriented with a safety-first mindset and proactive risk management.
WHAT WE OFFER
  • Expected Base Salary: $65,000-$85,000 per year. The actual base salary will depend on several factors including experience, qualifications, internal equity, work location and market expectations.
