Job Description: CAD Specialist - Qiddiya
Responsibilities include:
- Updating geospatial databases to ensure data accuracy and integrity, collaborating with project teams for spatial data analysis to aid decision-making, and assisting in data analysis to uncover patterns and insights.
- Creating, maintaining, and updating AutoCAD drawings, layouts, and digital maps using GIS tools.
- Supporting the drafting of special provisions and system/database reporting with oversight.
- Developing custom CAD layouts and drawings to resolve spatial problems.
- Assisting in the installation and configuration of enterprise portals to meet project needs.
- Supporting security measures and server site management.
- Implementing database design and spatial database models for efficient data querying and analysis.
- Defining data types, relationships, constraints, and indexes for optimal database performance.
- Preparing GIS maps and data, progressing to more complex tasks with supervision.
- Supporting AutoCAD implementation/management plans at project levels.
- Performing advanced editing and digitizing to convert analog maps into digital formats.
- Applying geoprocessing techniques for data manipulation and analysis.
- Providing technical guidance and training on GIS software and applications to junior staff.
- Responding to client queries and providing project support.
- Collaborating with other departments on work-related matters.
Key relationships include supervision by a manager, internal contacts with all project employees, and external contacts as needed.
Skills required:
- Proficiency with core GIS, CAD, and BIM software, especially AutoCAD and GIS tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills with geospatial data analysis expertise.
- Experience with database design, data modeling, and geospatial data transformation.
- Ability to automate tasks using programming languages like Python or JavaScript.
- Capability to mentor team members and develop training materials.
- Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
Education and experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Geography, Geomatics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- At least 6 years of related work experience.
Preferred certifications include AutoCAD or GIS-related credentials.
