Job summary

Skillhub Solutions Inc. is seeking a hands-on supervisor to lead a wood production team on the shop floor, ensuring safety, quality, and timely customer commitments. The role emphasizes coaching, scheduling, and continuous improvement while spending most of the time on the production floor.

You will coordinate daily workflow, review drawings, bills of materials, and production instructions, and collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance to reduce downtime and improve equipment performance.

Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems and CNC/machining processes preferred.

• Maintain a clean and safe work area, ensure PPE is used, and report safety concerns.
• Support accurate ERP labour records, production reporting, and job completion.

Position Summary

Lead day-to-day activities for a door manufacturing team while working alongside employees on the production floor. The role focuses on production targets, quality, safety, customer commitments, and team development. Approximately 80-90% of the work is spent on the production floor.

Responsibilities

• Ensure drawings, work orders, bills of materials, production instructions, and quality standards are followed.

• Work with Engineering and Maintenance to reduce downtime, support preventative maintenance, and improve equipment performance.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in woodworking, cabinet manufacturing, millwork, or custom door manufacturing.
• Previous experience as a lead hand, team lead, supervisor, or senior operator.
• Knowledge of woodworking equipment and manufacturing processes; ability to read manufacturing drawings and specifications.
• Mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and comfort using computers and manufacturing software.
• CNC router or machining-centre, automated sanding, and ERP experience are preferred. Forklift certification is an asset.

Hours and Compensation

7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Salary: $85,000-$95,000 per year, plus benefits.
