Job summary

Skillhub Solutions Inc. is seeking a production lead to manage a door manufacturing team on the production floor, focusing on targets, quality, safety, customer commitments, and team development. Qualifications

• 5+ years in woodworking or cabinet manufacturing.
• Experience as lead hand, team lead, supervisor, or senior operator.
• Ability to read drawings and specifications; ERP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and train production employees; promote accountability, teamwork, and safe practices.
• Coordinate daily workflow, labour allocation, schedules, and cross-shift communication.
• Ensure drawings, work orders, BOMs, production instructions, and quality standards are followed.
• Support setup, changeovers, troubleshooting, and optimization of CNC/woodworking equipment.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance to reduce downtime and improve equipment performance.
• Identify defects and participate in root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Maintain a clean, safe area; ensure PPE compliance and report safety concerns.
• Support ERP labour records, production reporting, and job completion.

Position Summary

Lead day-to-day activities for a door manufacturing team while working alongside employees on the production floor. The role focuses on production targets, quality, safety, customer commitments, and team development. Approximately 80-90% of the work is spent on the production floor.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and train production employees; promote accountability, teamwork, and safe work practices.
• Coordinate daily workflow, labour allocation, production schedules, and communication across the shift.
• Ensure drawings, work orders, bills of materials, production instructions, and quality standards are followed.
• Support setup, changeovers, troubleshooting, and optimization of CNC and other woodworking equipment.
• Work with Engineering and Maintenance to reduce downtime, support preventative maintenance, and improve equipment performance.
• Identify defects, participate in root-cause analysis, and support corrective actions and continuous improvement.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, ensure PPE is used, and report safety concerns.
• Support accurate ERP labour records, production reporting, and job completion.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in woodworking, cabinet manufacturing, millwork, or custom door manufacturing.
• Previous experience as a lead hand, team lead, supervisor, or senior operator.
• Knowledge of woodworking equipment and manufacturing processes; ability to read manufacturing drawings and specifications.
• Mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and comfort using computers and manufacturing software.
• CNC router or machining-centre, automated sanding, and ERP experience are preferred. Forklift certification is an asset.

Hours and Compensation

7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Salary: $85,000-$95,000 per year, plus benefits.
