Job summary

Excelitas Technologies Corp. in Vaudreuil-Dorion, Quebec, is seeking a Senior Buyer who will lead raw material sourcing, subcontracting and consignment activities within SAP to support production needs.

This individual is a key member of the organization, interfacing with suppliers in pre-purchase and
post-purchase activities. In this role, this individual will be responsible for raw material sourcing, manage business processes related to subcontracting and consignment.

Will assume ownership for all new purchasing processes and drive to resolution, meeting or exceeding management expectations

This role directly impacts the Company’s goal of becoming our Suppliers’ Partner of Choice providing Excelitas with the best supplier at the lowest overall cost.

Key Responsibilities

This role is a senior buyer position where the incumbent works on complex assignments, exercising judgment in determining appropriate course of action. Instructions are given in a general outline. Direction will be provided by the Supply Chain Manager

Responsibilities related to this position will include raw material sourcing, manage all subcontracting and consignment. Will lead supply projects that can exceed the scope of the department, and process ownership for procurement processes. May be required to train, assist and guide others,may also be required to train outside the department on procurement related processes.

• Consignment: Assist in the negotiation of consignment agreements and manage the process within SAP
• Subcontracting: Manage this business process within SAP and verify the accuracy of the process used when executed by others
• Accounts: Act as expert on assigned LTA’S (long Term Agreements) & Contracts
• Knowledge Discovery: Provide data analysis of historical & forward looking purchases to identify potential savings for volume pricing using quantity contracts or potential value engineering projects.
• Purchase Orders: Enter purchase order information into the applicable ERP. On board new suppliers including all supplier contact, invoicing, and shipping information. Interface with Planning and Manufacturing Operations to coordinate delivery schedules to align with production needs; proactively alert applicable team of any concerns.
• RMAs: Coordinate return and replacement of materials based on NCMR’s (Non-Conforming Material reports)
• Freight approvals: Verify and approve freight invoices related to procurement
• Cash Flow: Support the Finance organization by negotiating the most favorable payment terms, ensure purchase orders are processed accurately while maintaining sound financial controls.
• Compliance & Reporting: Assist with adherence to ISO 9000 standards and requirements; prepare various reports as requested including monthly business metrics related to supplier performance
• Product Transfers: Take the lead for procurement activity related to new product transfers to the Montreal site
• Export Compliance: Coordinate the screening against the denied parties list as required (All suppliers) Verify that when required the suppliers used are ITAR registered, work with ITC to provide suppliers with End User Certificates and/or End Use Statements Prior to export of any CGP or ITAR sensitive data work with ITC to obtain the required approvals
• Process Improvement: Actively participate in the on-going assessment of procurement related processes and incorporate approved improvements.

Critical Success Factors

• Technical Skills: Requires the completion of a college diploma in Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience. Requires at least one PMAC course or equivalent + 4 years experience in administrative processes within a manufacturing enviroment, with demonstrated supplier management expertise. Solid familiarity with Microsoft Office and SAP or other standard ERP.
• Communication Skills: Demonstrated interpersonal savvy with proven ability to build effective relationships with external suppliers and internal colleagues across all levels of the organization. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver clear, timely, and targeted messages. Comfortable with cold calling, must exude confidence when dealing with new suppliers .
• Meeting Committments: Prioritize time efficiently, meeting or exceeding commitments in an environment of change and multiple demands; continually seek way to improve individual/team efficiency.
• Business & Organization Knowledge: Ability to develop a deep understanding of the Excelitas products and core processes.
