Job summary

Väderstad is seeking a Buyer to join our Purchasing team on a 12–14 month contract to support the coordination, organization, purchasing, documentation, and delivery of raw materials and products. Reporting to the Senior Buyer, you will collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure day-to-day purchasing activities are executed efficiently.

Ideal candidates will have a minimum high school diploma or GED, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Diploma in Business administration an asset.
• Knowledge of ERP systems an asset.
• Knowledge/training in Lean manufacturing an asset.

Responsibilities

• Process, track and follow up on purchase orders.
• Participate in resolving Purchasing and administrative issues as needed.
• Work individually as well as part of a team.
• Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
• Prioritize and manage conflicting demands.
• Respond quickly in a dynamic, changing environment.
• Multi-task and assist the Purchasing Supervisor with forecasts to Suppliers.
• Maintain accurate filing of POs, quotes, reports and other office functions.
• Bring forward options for alternative suppliers and products.
• Perform stock counts/inventory level checks as required.
• Be dedicated to safety measures and best practices.
• Participate in other projects on an assigned basis.
