Join to apply for the Buyer, Canada, Champs role at Foot Locker

This hybrid position will be located at our Corporate Office in Toronto, Canada. Expectations for hybrid in-office schedule are three days a week, typically Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Foot Locker, Inc. is hiring a Buyer for our Champs Sports Division. This role involves taking calculated risks to create marketplace buzz and supplying products our consumers will love. The position requires maintaining vendor relationships, researching market trends, being innovative, and negotiating opportunities. You will collaborate with Planning, Allocation, Marketing, and Store Optimization teams to develop compelling assortments aligned with our target demographic.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with vendors and product development to establish product lines that meet customer needs while maximizing sales, profit, and gross margin.
  • Analyze sales reports and market trends to project sales patterns.
  • Coordinate with the Allocation team for proper product distribution and allocation.
  • Work with the Sr. Director to plan line review studies and seasonal product lines.
  • Prepare reports for budget and sales meetings.
  • Travel to monitor marketplace trends and for vendor previews.
  • Coordinate product delivery with Logistics and other division Buyers.
  • Partner with Planning and Merchandising teams to develop financial plans for upcoming seasons.
  • Manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Interface with Senior Executives and provide recommendations.
  • Negotiate terms to maximize sales and profits.
  • Stay informed on product, customer, and fashion trends.
  • Travel approximately 1-2 times per quarter based on responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in retail and e-commerce buying processes and product lifecycle management.
  • Experience with footwear and/or apparel categories is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint; knowledge of Power BI or similar systems is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Oracle PeopleSoft or similar tools is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and retail math proficiency.
  • Understanding of product, customer, and fashion trends.
  • Creative thinking, relationship building, and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with peers and management.
  • Organizational and prioritization abilities.
Benefits

The annual base salary ranges from CAD 90,000 to CAD 100,000, with eligibility for short-term incentives based on performance. Total compensation includes benefits such as:
