Job description

Overview

This hybrid position will be located at our Corporate Office in Toronto, Canada. Expectations for the in-office schedule are three days a week, typically Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Foot Locker, Inc. is hiring a Buyer for our Champs Sports Division. Our buying role involves taking calculated risks to create buzz in the marketplace and supply products our consumers will love. The role maintains strong vendor relationships, researches market trends, is innovative, and negotiates advantageous opportunities. You will collaborate closely with our Planning, Allocation, Marketing, and Store Optimization teams, always focusing on our target demographic to provide compelling assortments that attract customers.

Responsibilities

  1. Work with vendors and product development to establish product lines that meet customer needs while maximizing sales, profit, and gross margin.
  2. Analyze sales reports and market trends to forecast sales patterns.
  3. Coordinate with the Allocation team for proper product distribution and allocation.
  4. Collaborate with the Sr. Director to plan line review studies and reports for seasonal product lines.
  5. Prepare reports for budget and sales meetings.
  6. Travel within the marketplace to monitor trends.
  7. Travel to vendor sites for pre-line and product preview meetings.
  8. Coordinate product delivery with Logistics and other division Buyers.
  9. Partner with Planning and Merchandising teams to develop financial plans for upcoming seasons.
  10. Manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
  11. Interface effectively with Senior Executives and provide recommendations.
  12. Negotiate terms creatively to maximize sales and profits.
  13. Stay informed on product, customer preferences, and market & fashion trends.
  14. Travel approximately 1-2 times per quarter, depending on brand responsibilities.
