Job summary

Livingston International is seeking a Buyer to support the procurement function by purchasing goods and services required for business operations. Working under the guidance of senior procurement professionals, the Buyer is responsible for processing purchase orders, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring contracts are completed on time, while maintaining quality and cost objectives.

Must be able to work in the office 2 days a week.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or related experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage purchase orders for assigned commodities or service categories.
  • Obtain quotes from suppliers and compare pricing, quality, and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor supplier performance related to quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
  • Expedite orders and resolve issues with suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and procurement documentation.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand purchasing requirements.
  • Support contract administration and ensure policy compliance.
  • Assist with supplier onboarding and qualification activities.
  • Analyze purchasing trends and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Maintain inventory levels by monitoring demand and replenishment requirements.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies with Suppliers and Accounts Payable.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within procurement.
  • Perform as a back-up managing supplier maintenance in our systems.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Create and manage purchase orders for assigned commodities or service categories.
  • Obtain quotes from suppliers and compare pricing, quality, and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor supplier performance related to quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
  • Follow up with suppliers to expedite orders and resolve any issues.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and procurement documentation.

  • Assist with supplier onboarding and qualification activities.

Knowledge & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Operations Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Atleast 1 year of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or related business experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Work Experience – Minimum Required

2 years of related experience

EDUCATION

Required: Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management or Finance

Certifications Description

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business or Finance.

Base salary is one component of our total rewards package which also includes incentive opportunities, benefits, and professional development. Salary ranges are established by location and reflect relevant factors such as skills, experience, and market conditions. The good-faith salary range for this position is $44,690 - $70,000 CAD. Actual compensation will be determined based on these factors and may vary accordingly.
