Position Overview

As a key member of the Purchasing team, this role includes varying levels of involvement in all of our projects. You will have the opportunity to gain exposure to sourcing various complex components and materials for the manufacturing floor. You will have a broad reach across the organization as it supports a variety of purchasing requirements.

This position requires a high-level knowledge of the current supply chain, including issues and restrictions. The ideal candidate will be a persistent self-starter with excellent relationship building, strong decision-making skills and impressive attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quotations, review project demands and bids, source materials, and prepare commercial analysis for various telecommunications projects.
• Negotiate details of the purchase orders, as well as the cost and schedule impact of purchase change orders.
• Build relationships with suppliers and industry representatives, while learning about new products and awarding future business.
• You will be a main point of contact for the Project Management Office and Marketing team while coordinating the costing efforts for various proposals.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• PMAC diploma or designation is an asset.
• Experience in SAP is considered an asset.
• Proven ability to establish strategic sourcing and supplier relationships.
• You will have the ability to meet the requirements outlined in the Canadian Controlled Goods Program.
• You will be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level.
