Job summary

Groupe SM Tardif / SM Construction is seeking a Buyer for our Energy Division in Canada. You will ensure optimal procurement of materials and equipment to support project execution while adhering to budgets, schedules, and quality standards.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years of Buyer experience in plumbing or process mechanical systems, and a DEC/AEC in Supply Chain Management is preferred. Strong negotiation, planning, and customer-service skills are essential, with a team-focused,

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Buyer in the plumbing or process mechanical systems field.
• College diploma (DEC) or Attestation of College Studies (AEC) in Supply Chain Management or a related field (an asset).
• Strong negotiation skills, excellent planning abilities, and a customer service-oriented mindset.
• Team player with excellent stress management skills and the ability to respond effectively in urgent situations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate procurement requirements by ensuring a clear understanding and effective prioritization of internal requests.
• Plan and carry out purchasing activities while monitoring orders and ensuring delivery deadlines are met.
• Coordinate logistics activities related to the preparation, shipment, and return of materials.
• Manage supplier relationships to optimize performance and purchasing terms.
• Maintain rigorous inventory management by optimizing stock levels and resource utilization.
• Act as the main point of contact between internal teams and suppliers to ensure smooth operations.
• Ensure the compliance and quality of materials while contributing to the continuous improvement of procurement practices
