Job summary

Groupe SM Tardif inc., through SM Construction, seeks a Buyer in process mechanical systems to ensure optimal procurement supporting complex projects in our Energy Division. Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Buyer in plumbing or process mechanical systems.
• College diploma (DEC) or Attestation of College Studies (AEC) in Supply Chain Management (asset).
• Strong negotiation skills, excellent planning abilities, and a customer service mindset.
• Team player with stress management skills and ability to respond in urgent situations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate procurement requirements with clear understanding and prioritization of internal requests.
• Plan and carry out purchasing activities while monitoring orders and delivery deadlines.
• Coordinate logistics related to preparation, shipment, and return of materials.
• Manage supplier relationships to optimize performance and terms.
• Maintain inventory management by optimizing stock levels and resource use.
• Act as main contact between internal teams and suppliers for smooth operations.
• Ensure compliance and quality of materials and contribute to procurement improvements.

You will ensure the optimal procurement of materials and equipment to effectively support project execution while respecting budgets, schedules, and the company’s quality standards.

Profile sought

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Buyer in the plumbing or process mechanical systems field;
• College diploma (DEC) or Attestation of College Studies (AEC) in Supply Chain Management or a related field (an asset);
• Strong negotiation skills, excellent planning abilities, and a customer service-oriented mindset;
