The Buyer is a key member of the Purchasing team, responsible for executing day-to-day procurement activities to ensure the timely and cost-effective supply of products. This role manages purchase orders, maintains accurate procurement data, and builds strong supplier relationships while supporting inventory availability and operational efficiency.
Generate and manage purchase orders, including entry, confirmation, and follow-up on estimated time of arrival (ETA)
Monitor open purchase orders and proactively follow up on late or outstanding shipments
Maintain accurate product,, and supplier data within the ERP system
Set up new product codes and ensure data integrity across purchasing systems
Communicate order status updates and supply issues to branch and internal teams
Liaise with suppliers regarding lead times, backorders, pricing, and product availability
Support sourcing activities by identifying alternative products and suppliers when needed
Assist in maintaining supplier relationships, including pricing, terms, and service performance
Support Finance with inventory control efforts Maintain purchasing documentation, including price lists and supplier records
Utilize available data and reporting tools to drive operational improvements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Operations, Warehouse) to support product availability
Participate in process improvements and departmental initiatives
Perform other duties as assigned
Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred (equivalent work experience will be considered)
3-5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related role
Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., Epicor) preferred
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with suppliers and internal teams
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Google Suite

Salary Range: $50,000 to $70,000 (based on skills and experience)
Variable compensation: Annual performance bonus eligibility
