  • Develops and executes effective bidding, negotiation, and pricing strategies to provide Meadowvale with the best value in the market place for the dollars spent in a manner that meets the budgets, policies, ethical standards and audit requirements of Meadowvale Stamping
  • Purchases raw materials, equipment, tools, parts and supplies for a group of products/functions.
  • Develops supply sources by interviewing potential suppliers, visiting current vendors to improve relations and assessing supply facilities and negotiating price.
  • Ensure Purchase Orders are entered and issued in a timely manner.
  • Conducts activities in CMS and other Information Systems to support purchasing
  • Reconciles variances between Purchase Orders and Invoices (Price, Quantity, Free On Board (F.O.B.), Inco terms, Terms of Payment)
  • Maintains supplier files, purchase prices, price fluctuations and Quality Procedures (CMS)
  • Ensures that the minimum level of inventory for the allocated commodities are maintained without jeopardizing the continuity of scheduled production within the customer release schedules.
  • Communicates effectively with all requisitioning departments and arranges for proper and accurate information exchange between originator and supplier
  • Participates as a strategic liaison with the relevant suppliers to ensure raw material requirements are satisfied.
  • Identify, plan and develop projects which reflect continuous improvement and offer cost savings to the division.

  • Solid project management skills, establishing long range planning, timelines and goals
  • Ability to leverage relationships with all key stakeholders to reach acceptance by all parties
  • Analytical and results focused driving to achieve and surpass targets through a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Will demonstrate strong problem solving capabilities in prioritizing tasks using effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions

Education Qualification:

  • Post secondary education in related discipline.
  • 5 years experience in Purchasing/Materials Management related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Enrolment in PMAC program (CPP Designation) an asset
  • Good mathematical, organizational and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Ability to work to meet deadlines and multiple demands.
  • Ability to uphold confidentiality.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively within team environment.
  • Ability to work overtime to meet customer needs.
  • Strong communication skills (English - both written and oral)
