What you will do

Supporting our Data Center Solutions (DCS)/Silent-Aire group, you will be responsible for the tactical procurement of commodities, supplies, equipment, and services to be used by the organization. You will coordinate your efforts with supervisors in order to maintain the appropriate level of inventory and will utilize intermediate to advanced knowledge to purchase goods and services at the most favourable price for the Company, while simultaneously building and maintaining strategic relationships with key suppliers.

How you will do it

  • Provide supply chain management support to assigned project engineering and all Silent-Aire departments.

  • Independently conducting standard data capture, analyses and transactions, e.g., analyzing internal client requirements, reviewing purchase requisitions for goods to ensure compliance with purchasing procedures and user requirements, preparing routine bids and proposals, creating supporting spreadsheets, conducting more complex product and price comparisons, assisting in bid openings, obtaining quotes, etc.

  • Assist with more complex investigations, documentation, and analyses under the direction of senior staff.

  • Interact with vendors and departments regarding procurement procedures and status of orders, e.g., expediting shipping and deliveries, price changes and vendor back orders.

  • Maintain and update vendor files and price lists for assigned commodity groups in accordance with established policies and procedures and audit guidelines/SOX requirements.

  • Support and assist with statistical and historical data, e.g., validating, reconciling, and processing receiving reports, vendor invoices and other payment documents

  • Assist with the continuous improvement of the supply chain management systems and processes

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we look for

Required:

  • Two-year degree in an appropriate field of study (e.g., Purchasing/Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business Administration, etc.)

  • 5+ years of related experience in purchasing for industrial or manufacturing environment

  • Proven experience at an intermediate level with Microsoft Excel

  • Aptitude and communications skills related to developing and maintaining effective working relationships

  • Excellent verbal and written communication

  • Able to form and maintain professional working relationships with both inside and outside vendors

  • Ability to travel as needed – 10%

  • Working in an office environment with a manufacturing setting that requires Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Preferred:

  • Meets requirements for entry into SCMP, APICS, and/or ISM accreditation, and enrollment in the program

  • Experience with SAGE 300 purchasing and/or other inventory control systems

  • Financial acumen and previous experience with sourcing and purchasing electrical and mechanical components
