Job summary

Canning Village Meat Market is seeking a skilled meat cutter to join our on-site shop in Nova Scotia. You will cut, trim and prepare a range of meats, grind and sausage-making, and provide customer service for in-store purchases.

Candidates should have 2–3 years of experience in meat cutting, possess a Registered Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent, and hold Meat Cutter Trade Certification. This full-time, on-site role requires attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2 years to less than 3 years experience in meat cutting or similar role.
• On-site work with no remote option.
• Meat Cutter Trade Certification or apprenticeship pathway required.

Responsibilities

• Clean meats to prepare for processing or cutting.
• Prepare special cuts of meat ordered by customers.
• Cut, trim and prepare standard cuts of meat.
• Wrap and package prepared meats.
• Remove bones from meat.
• Weigh meats for sale.
• Cut poultry into parts.
• Price meat products.
• Prepare fish and shellfish for sale.
• Sell meats to customers.
• Cut fish into steaks and fillets.
• Grind meats.
• Make sausages.
• Shape, lace and tie roasts, other meats, poultry and seafood.
