Job summary

Live Nation Entertainment at Toronto's Opera House is seeking a dedicated busser to help deliver memorable guest experiences at a historic venue. The role involves supporting servers and kitchen, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring timely beverage service during events.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in a busser role, can lift cases, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required; compensation in Ontario is CAD 17.90 per hour.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience as a busser in a high-volume venue.
  • Ability to safely carry 2 cases of beer through the venue and up stairs.
  • Familiarity with food safety basics is helpful but not required.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and bend for long periods.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Demonstrates a balance of professionalism and a friendly, upbeat attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Perform opening and closing busser duties.
  • Maintain standards for servers and kitchen to ensure flawless execution.
  • Deliver beer and liquor to bars accurately and promptly.
  • Stay informed about current menu items and allergen information.
  • Keep floors, storage areas and spaces clean and safe.
  • Follow safety policies to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Keep utensils organized and stocked for efficient use.
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond with urgency.
  • Communicate effectively with F&B management on levels and needs.
  • Foster teamwork and support among staff to ensure guest satisfaction.

The Role

Responsibilities
  • Perform various opening and closing busser duties.
  • Ensuring the servers and the kitchen are consistently up to appropriate standards for flawless execution
  • Run beer & liquor accurately to the bars in a seamless, gracious manner
  • Stay informed of current menu items (including allergen & nutritional information)
  • Keep floor neat, clean and free of food, trash and other obstacles throughout shift
  • Focus on the cleanliness and sanitation of the space, including but not limited to: storage areas, garbage spaces and other working spaces
  • Follow safety procedures and policies to ensure a safe and clean environment
  • Ensure all kitchen utensils are organized and stocked for efficient use and access
  • Anticipate the guests’ needs and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency
  • Create an atmosphere where coworkers are connected and committed through seamless communication and the willingness to help others win
  • Maintain thorough communication with F&B Management team on par levels and various other food & beverage needs
Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience as a busser or similar role in a high-volume environment
  • Ability to carry 2 cases of beer safely though the venue and carrying them up stairs
  • Takes great initiative and is able to anticipate the needs of bartenders knowledge of food safety protocols & kitchen equipment is an asset, but not required
  • Must be able to stand during scheduled shift, withstand repetitive walking, reaching, and bending for long periods of time
  • A passion for live events and desire to ensure every customer experience is exceptional!
  • You’ve found the balance of being respectful and professional whilst being fun and jovial in a work environment
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required

The expected compensation for this position in Ontario is: $17.90/hr.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

lifts up to 10 pounds regularly; exposed to typical office environment conditions and noise levels; ability to walk up and down stairs repeatedly while carrying cases of beer throughout the event.
