Job summary

RBC is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to lead requirements, data mapping, and testing for large banking projects in the Corporate Treasury IT team. You will collaborate with stakeholders, development, QA, and vendors to deliver scalable solutions and innovative AI-enabled processes.

The role focuses on regulatory capital-related initiatives, data modeling, and driving efficiency through AI tools while ensuring rigorous governance and stakeholder alignment in a dynamic financial services

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or higher in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or Finance.
• 5-7 years’ banking industry experience with medium to large size systems implementation.
• Experience in SQL and data sourcing and mappings to cover major Capital Market products.
• Ability to take initiative, result oriented and work independently with multiple priorities.
• Knowledge of SDLC lifecycle, Agile, others.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools, APIs, and frameworks.
• Knowledge of AI tools, prompt design, vector databases, or agent setups.

Responsibilities

• Elicit, analyze and document business requirements, business rules and data sources.
• Understand product attributes, data flow and perform data gap analysis.
• Communicate requirements to development and QA teams, perform testing and UAT.
• Report BA status and raise concerns to management and PMs.

What is the Opportunity?

As a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) within the Corporate Treasury IT team of Global Functions Technology (GFT) group, you will be responsible for leading requirements gathering and supporting development and testing teams for medium to large size project initiatives. Our projects are large-scale and high-profile that include both critical internal business initiatives and regulatory projects that work with high data volume. You will be exposed to understanding the business nature and data representation of major banking products. You will work with business stakeholders, development teams, quality assurance teams and vendors to build industry leading, efficient, and scalable solutions

Looking for a Business Systems Analyst to support Enterprise Regulatory Capital Measurement related initiatives covering regulatory reporting (2027/2028 CAR) requirements, OSFI assurance work and other critical FRO external and internal initiatives and also leverage AI to streamline Regulatory Capital processes to achieve efficiency

What will you do?

• Elicit, analyze and document business requirements, business rules and data sources

• Understand various product attributes, the overall data flow and perform data gap analysis as required for the project

• Communicate requirements to development and QA teams, perform testing, coordinate UAT testing and assist in production implementation

• Report BA status and raise concerns or issues that may hinder the project progress as planned to management and PMs

• Contribute to the process re-engineering and process improvement, where applicable

• Support user’s training and documentation as needed

• Build and launch smart AI features using large language models and machine learning frameworks into our Corporate Treasury applications & processes

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• Undergraduate degree or higher, preferable in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or Finance

• 5-7 years’ work experience in the banking industry with medium to large size systems implementation, system integration, and/or systems re‑engineering projects

• Experience in SQL and data sourcing and mappings to cover major Capital Market products

• Ability to take initiative, result oriented and work independently with multiple priorities.

• Knowledge of SDLC lifecycle, Agile, others

• Hands‑on experience with AI tools, APIs, and frameworks

• Good understanding of AI tools, prompt design, vector databases, or agent setups

Nice-to-have

• Experience on Financial Products – Cash Equities, Bond, Futures, Forwards, Interest Rate Derivatives, Foreign Exchanges Currency and OTC Derivatives (Swaps, Structured Debt products etc)

• Understanding of BASEL Capital Adequacy, leverage ratio and/or liquidity regulatory requirements

• Past experience in Credit Risk, Market Risk, Operational Risk, and Liquidity Risk

• Familiar with Hadoop, Python, Tableau, Drools
