Sales Representative - Higher Education (home office - remote)

The Higher Education Division is currently recruiting a Sales Representative in the Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta area.

JOB SUMMARY:

As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for growing the revenue and usage of Pearson’s industry-leading digital platform, MyLab. You are a highly motivated and analytically minded individual with strong customer-facing skills. You go above and beyond in servicing your customer base and understanding their challenges.

You will be responsible for creating strategic plans, focusing on winning new business, retaining, and upselling base business, owning the end-to-end sales process, and leveraging internal teams to ensure customers are set up for long-term success with digital learning solutions.

As a Sales Representative, you will:

  1. Demonstrate a strong commitment to a positive, collaborative, and team-based selling culture.
  2. Work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to problem solve & project manage.
  3. Research and identify potential customers through social selling, including cold calling, networking, and online research.
  4. Employ effective consultative techniques including pre-call planning and productive questioning strategies.
  5. Effectively communicate the Pearson value and how it can meet the customer's specific needs.
  6. Prospect, present, negotiate, and close Pearson digital offerings.
  7. Demonstrate exceptional organizational & time management skills.
  8. Maintain product knowledge around Pearson digital offerings and the educational industry.
  9. Exhibit strong knowledge of Pearson's customer relationship management system, SalesForce.
  10. Possess strong analytical skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Our Ideal Candidate Demonstrates/Has:

  1. Previous sales experience with a track record of success.
  2. On-line literacy and experience working with new technologies.
  3. Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
  4. Excellent communication, interpersonal, & emotional intelligence skills.
  5. Competitive desire to exceed goals and grow territory.
  6. Strong business planning and prospecting abilities.
  7. Able to work independently and is self-motivated.
  8. Willingness to travel.
  9. Valid driver’s license.
