Job description

Canada’s Ocean Supercluster is an innovative, industry-led national ocean cluster dedicated to achieving sustainable economic growth in ocean-based industries while contributing to planetary health. The OSC collaborates with investors and partners across ocean sectors to develop and commercialize solutions to shared ocean challenges, focusing on areas such as ocean energy, sustainable seafood, marine transport, and climate solutions. Our goal is to grow Canadian ocean companies and build a supportive ecosystem. We value creativity, inclusion, collaboration, and ambition.

The OSC has a team of over 30 employees across seven provinces. We seek an innovative thinker to lead our workforce agenda, supporting the growth, retention, and development of the ocean economy and environmental health.

About the Role :

Reporting to the Vice-President of Operations, this one-year contract role as Business Operations Manager involves leading operational excellence, promoting data-driven decision-making, solving complex business problems, and enhancing systems and infrastructure. The focus will be on improving internal reporting, information sharing, and optimizing business processes to deliver timely and relevant information to stakeholders.

Role and Responsibilities :
  1. Support cross-functional projects to streamline operations and increase efficiency.
  2. Evaluate and improve current processes, identify bottlenecks, and lead implementation of solutions.
  3. Optimize internal systems and reporting efficiencies.
  4. Assist in evaluating IT systems and infrastructure enhancements.
  5. Enhance reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  6. Gather KPI data, generate insights, and prepare reports for leadership and stakeholders.
  7. Improve knowledge management systems for effective information sharing.
  8. Maintain and develop internal business process documentation.
  9. Build strong internal relationships to support operational improvements.
What You Bring :

The ideal candidate is passionate about improving systems, processes, and practices to support data-driven insights and decision-making.

Additional Qualifications :
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role within a continuous improvement environment.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Teams, Power BI, and automation tools.
  • Proven track record of driving operational efficiencies and process improvements.
  • Experience enhancing systems for better reporting and results.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and understand operational processes.
  • Strategic, innovative, agile, and self-motivated mindset.
