Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a BI Engineer to join a leading bank in Toronto on a 12-month contract. You will design, develop, and deliver BI reporting and analytics using the Enterprise Data Warehouse, SQL Server, and Power BI, collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.

Responsibilities include supporting scheduled reporting, production support, performance improvements, and maintaining data quality.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a BI Engineer driving continuous improvement in reporting performance and data quality.
• Advanced understanding of reporting and data analysis tools including Microsoft SQL Server, SSRS/SSAS, Excel PowerPivot, Power BI, Power Query.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps (or JIRA) and ITSM tools.
• Strong proficiency with SQL Server database objects and query optimization.
• Experience supporting BAU reporting operations, including scheduled reporting and production support.
• Experience performing data validation and troubleshooting reporting issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Employment: 12-Month Contract + Extension

Pay: $46-$50

Insight Global is looking for a BI Engineer to join a leading bank in Toronto to join a top bank in Toronto on a contract basis. The purpose of this position is to design, develop, and deliver Business Intelligence (BI) reporting and analytics solutions to internal stakeholders using the Enterprise Data Warehouse and other enterprise applications. This role collaborates with cross‑functional technology teams, Information Management, and business stakeholders to translate reporting and analytics requirements into scalable, secure, and reliable solutions. This position has a strong Business‑as‑Usual (BAU) component and is expected to deliver regularly scheduled and/or orchestrated reporting outputs, provide production support, and drive continuous improvements in reporting quality, performance, and maintainability. The role leverages Microsoft BI technologies, SQL Server, and Power BI, to support both operational reporting and analytics needs.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• 3+ years of experience as a BI Engineer driving continuous improvement in reporting performance, data quality, and BI platform capabilities
• Advanced understanding of reporting and data analysis tools such as Microsoft SQL Server, SSRS, SSAS, Excel PowerPivot, Power BI, Power Query, etc
• Familiarity working with Azure DevOps (or JIRA) and ITSM tools
• Strong proficiency with SQL Server database objects (stored procedures, views, functions) and query optimization
• Experience supporting business-as-usual reporting operations, including scheduled reporting cycles and production support
• Experience performing data validation, troubleshooting reporting issues, and providing Tier II support
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
