Our client is a successful mid-size software company which fosters an amazing work environment and is located in the heart of downtown Toronto. They have engaged ROSS (www.getROSS.com) to help them recruit a number of Software Engineers. ROSS is a team of People Specialists helping companies align their People Strategy with their business growth. We provide remote or onsite HR and Recruitment solutions such as Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) and Recruitment Augmentation.

Our client is looking for a driven and enthusiastic Business Intelligence Developer who will use their extensive knowledge of BI tools, technologies and approaches to develop our client’s next gen BI platform. You will be a technical expert capable of evolving their BI platform to meet the increasingly complex needs of the business. Responsibilities:

• Perform data analysis, modeling and profiling
• Conduct ETL development and create ETL processes
• Provide guidance on project design, report development, security and data mart design
• Build reports/dashboards for dissemination through a web based environment
• Play a very strong hands-on role in the implementation of the BI platform in an organization that has firmly adopted Agile and automated testing
• Initial deliveries will focus on providing self-service reporting and analysis capabilities to both internal and external customers

Qualifications:

• Very Strong SQL programming skills
• 5 years of experience delivering BI projects
• Breadth and depth of knowledge in BI concepts, methodologies and architectures
• Experience with at least one major ETL tool
• Experience with at least one major BI tool
• Previous experience with extensive and advanced business performance reporting and analysis
• Strong critical thinking; demonstrated ability to leverage data and draw meaningful conclusions and recommendations
• Strong personal integrity and work ethic; takes responsibility and likes to be held accountable for results; is constantly a top performer and can be counted on to exceed goals
• Very strong communication skills
• Highly adept at troubleshooting and problem-solving
• Passionate about BI and data!

Nice to haves:

• Experience with Talend Data Integration and Data Quality products
• Talend Open Studio certification
• MicroStrategy experience
• Technical understanding of machine learning and its applications
• Experience with agile development
• Experience developing complex multi-tier software systems with JEE web application servers
• Experience with NoSQL databases
