UCB is seeking a curious, analytical Business Excellence Intern for a 12-month hybrid role in Oakville, Ontario. You will join the Business Excellence Hub and contribute to cross-functional projects that improve efficiency, compliance, and organizational performance.

You will gain hands-on experience in HCP contracting, PO administration, reporting, and digital enablement while building skills in data analysis, project coordination, and governance adherence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business, Analytics, Operations, or related field; Masters degree considered an asset.
  • 1–2 years of relevant work, internship, or co-op experience; pharmaceutical or healthcare industry experience is asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain business performance reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to support decision-making.
  • Monitor HCP and HCO engagement activities and support compliance oversight.
  • Analyze data and provide insights to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Support cross-functional projects by tracking progress, coordinating deliverables, and preparing executive-ready presentations and status updates.
  • Document business processes and contribute to operational playbooks, SOPs, and training materials.
  • Gather stakeholder requirements and identify opportunities for process optimization and digital enablement.
  • Support internal monitoring and self-audit activities to ensure adherence to policies and governance standards.

We are looking for a curious, analytical, and solutions-oriented Business Excellence Intern to join our Business Excellence team. This is a 12-month hybrid position based in our Oakville, Ontario office.

About the role

As a member of the Business Excellence Hub, you will contribute to cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives that enhance efficiency, strengthen compliance, and support organizational performance. You will gain hands-on experience in key organizational processes, including healthcare professional (HCP) contracting and payments, purchase order (PO) administration, compliance monitoring, reporting, and digital enablement.

You will build expertise in process improvement, data analysis, project coordination, and business operations while helping ensure adherence to corporate policies, governance standards, and regulatory requirements.

Who you’ll work with

You will partner with stakeholders across a broad range of functions, including Ethics & Business Integrity, Medical Affairs, Finance, and Business Operations. This role offers unique exposure to enterprise priorities, cross-functional decision-making, and the processes that support the successful execution of corporate objectives.

Interested? For this role, we’re looking for the following

Minimum requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business, Analytics, Operations, or a related field; Masters degree considered an asset.
  • 1-2 years of relevant work, internship, or co-op experience; pharmaceutical or healthcare industry experience is considered an asset.
Preferred requirements
  • Experience with Veeva, Salesforce, Power BI or similar CRM, analytics, and digital engagement platforms.
  • Coursework, certification, or experience in project management (PMP), process improvement (Lean Six Sigma), and/or business analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and AI-enabled productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot.
  • Experience creating reports, dashboards, or data visualizations using Excel or similar tools.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships, collaborate effectively across teams, and engage professionally with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to challenge the status quo, identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement, and deliver value-added solutions.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and collaborative workplace.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French

This positions reasonably anticipated base contracted range is $45,000 - $55,000 annually. The actual salary offered will take into account related knowledge, skills, experience and location among other factors and may fall outside the expected range
