Summary:

We are seeking a Business Development, Senior Manager to join our team in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, or remotely across the US.

What your team does:

The Business Development team at Clio builds and manages strategic partnerships. We are looking for a senior, seasoned deal maker with expertise in product and growth partnerships. This leader will report to the VP of Business Development and help forge partnerships with Big Tech, legal tech giants, ISVs, and other technology or growth organizations with legal professionals as their customers.

What you’ll work on:
  • Identifying strategic partnership opportunities and building a pipeline of high-value deals; negotiating and managing partnerships including 3rd party apps, GTM partners, and strategic alliances.
  • Collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to evaluate partnership opportunities and inform product development.
  • Working with Go-To-Market teams to bundle, solution, and sell partner solutions alongside Clio’s offerings, including joint marketing and sales initiatives.
  • Ensuring legal and regulatory compliance in partnerships and integrations.
  • Mentoring and collaborating with a team of Business Development Managers, Community Partnership Managers, and App Partner Managers.
  • Developing monetization strategies within partnerships to drive revenue and maximize value.
  • Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and success.
  • Taking on additional responsibilities to support business growth.
What you bring:
  • 8+ years in partnerships/business development, with success in scaling businesses.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience with SaaS partnership dynamics.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic growth initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience working in high-performing, small teams.
  • Strategic thinking with tactical execution ability.
  • Data-driven and analytical mindset.
  • Comfort with negotiating legal partnership agreements.
Bonus points if you have:
  • Knowledge of the legal tech ecosystem.
  • Legal industry experience.
  • Experience in top-tier strategy consulting.
