Job description

We are seeking a Business Development Representative to join our team in Winnipeg, Toronto, Alberta, Ottawa or Halifax.

As a Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for developing new group insurance opportunities for our team of sales advisors across Canada. You will target executive decision-makers in small and medium-sized companies to help them enhance their corporate health and wellness offerings.

The Business Development Representative will:
  • Find new business through prospecting efforts.
  • Generate high-quality net new opportunities and pass on confirmed opportunities to sales consultants in a team selling environment.
  • Target executive decision-makers in organizations across Canada.
  • Stay informed about market trends, industry news, and leverage existing connections to generate interest.
  • Use multiple channels to engage with potential customers, including phone, email, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Collaborate closely with the Marketing Department to leverage messaging and literature to drive sales.
  • Use HubSpot as the primary tool to track all communications, next steps, and transaction information.
To be successful as a Business Development Representative with People Corporation, you will need:
  • At least five (5) years of experience in an outbound sales environment selling solutions to executive decision-makers (B2B).
  • Proven experience in strategically using multiple channels to generate high-quality opportunities.
  • Highly motivated, competitive, and goal-oriented, with a passion for results.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English is desirable.
  • A continuous learner who seeks to deepen knowledge and improve daily.
  • Team spirit: understanding that sales is a team effort and supporting colleagues to succeed.
  • Integrity: getting things done ethically and putting the customer first.
