Purpose:
As the Business Development Manager (BDM) for the Ottawa/Kingston Territory, you will play a crucial role in driving growth and increasing customer engagement. Working remotely and reporting directly to the Senior Director of Specialty, you will focus primarily on prospecting new business while managing existing Physician accounts.

Job Responsibilities:
- Territory Management: Develop and execute a strategic territory management plan aimed at meeting and exceeding sales targets, utilizing CRM tools for effective prospecting and pipeline management.
- Account Management: Manage and grow existing Physician accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction while focusing heavily on driving new business opportunities.
- Business Prospecting: Identify and prospect new business opportunities in key Specialty areas, including Ophthalmology, Rheumatology, Neurology, Dermatology, and other specialty fields.
- Market Expansion: Identify and pursue new market opportunities, collaborating with internal stakeholders to discuss potential program or service developments.
- Proposal & Business Case Development: Lead the creation of business proposals.
- Customer Engagement: Cultivate strong business relationships, establishing credibility and trust with internal and external stakeholders.
- Market Intelligence: Keep abreast of competitor activities, industry trends, and customer needs, using insights to identify growth opportunities.
- Customer Service Excellence: Ensure all interactions reflect the highest level of customer service, striving to exceed expectations at every touchpoint.
- Data Analysis and Sales Reporting: Analyze monthly reports, identifying actionable insights to drive strategic decision-making. Provide regular updates on sales progress and business development opportunities.
- Process Optimization: Collaborate with internal teams to ensure adherence to processes, quality standards, and SOPs that ensure optimal customer experience.
- Cross-functional Liaison: Act as the bridge between the pharmacy team and various internal/external stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and execution of customer excellence.
Qualifications:
- Education: University or College degree required.
- Experience: Minimum of five years’ experience in sales, preferably in the healthcare specialty industry.
- Industry Experience: Previous experience in Ophthalmology, Neurology, Immunology, or Oncology is preferred.
- Key Account Management: Demonstrated experience in managing key accounts and driving business development efforts.
- Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel within Ottawa, Kingston, Cornwall and other as required.

- Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license is required for travel.
Additional Notes:
A results-driven mindset is essential, with a focus on achieving measurable outcomes in sales and customer engagement. Ability to work autonomously as well as within a collaborative, cross-functional team environment is critical. Strong presentation skills and experience presenting to executive-level stakeholders will be advantageous.
