Job description

Business Development Manager - Ontario

Department: Tuff Industries

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Cambridge

Compensation: $80,000 - $110,000 / year

Tuff Industries is the manufacturer and brand owner behind Tufdek, one of North America’s leading waterproof vinyl decking systems. As a Canadian‑owned company with decades of innovation, Tuff has built a reputation for quality, reliability, and strong partnerships across homeowners, developers and the building‑envelope community.

Tuff Industries operates as a division of Canadian General Tower (CGT), a global leader in performance‑engineered polymer materials serving decking, roofing, automotive, and industrial markets since 1869. CGT’s technical expertise and manufacturing excellence ensure Tufdek products meet the highest standards for durability and long‑term performance.

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to accelerate Tuff’s growth across Ontario.

This position requires managing all territory sales activities to drive growth in both sales and market share, while executing approved sales and marketing initiatives and delivering exceptional customer service across the region. The Business Development Manager works closely with leadership to ensure strong territory performance, effective partner support, and consistent execution of Tuff’s sales strategy.

This role also requires strong experience within the building‑envelope community — including roofing, decking, exterior systems, and the contractor, consultant, and specifier networks that influence project decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop new customers and grow existing customers
  • Organize and execute a business plan to meet territory sales goals and customer needs
  • Frequently engage roofing, decking, exterior contractors, remodelers, restoration specialists, builders, architects, and building-envelope consultants to drive demand for Tufdek products
  • Confidently build and deliver presentations to any audience, including dealers, contractors, consultants, builders, or end users to drive demand for Tufdek products
  • Increase Tufdek market share in the territory
  • Utilize approved sales/marketing tools within budget
  • Provide timely updates on market trends, competitor activity, and any dealer request related to pricing or payment terms
  • Present Tufdek products and programs to dealers, contractors, consultants, and end users on a weekly basis
  • Deliver Product Knowledge (PK) presentations to dealers, contractors, and consultants as part of regular field activity
  • Collaborate with our authorized trainer to help facilitate new‑dealer training sessions and ensure customers are prepared from a sales/product‑knowledge standpoint
  • Follow up on inquiries from customers or Tuff administration in a timely fashion
  • Submittal of intelligence Reports in a timely fashion
  • Participate in trade shows, regional events, and industry functions to represent the Tufdek brand and support territory growth
  • Investigation and processing of product quality complaints in territory
  • Travel outside of Ontario may be required to support company events, training, and broader territory needs
  • Any other responsibilities as assigned

  • Ability to pull demand through end users, consultants, architects, and developers
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Technical aptitude to provide basic product knowledge and project clarification when required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within Western Canada
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently
  • Strong communication skills – listening, clarifying, understanding, speaking, and facilitating.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Benefits of working at Tuff
  • Individual compensation is commensurate with skill set, relevant experience and education.
  • Comprehensive health benefits, including dental, vision, and paramedical coverage
