Commissionaires BC is a Canadian, not-for-profit security/enforcement organization that has been in business since 1927.

We are recruiting for a Security Officer to work with local businesses and community at the Newton BIA area in Surrey.

Job details

Location: Newton BIA area, Surrey.

Shift times: Monday – Friday 08:00 – 16:00; Saturday & Sunday 08:00 – 16:00.

Pay: $24 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the RCMP as a visible community presence to promote safety and security.
• Working with local businesses and community members to ensure safe environment.
• Observe and report any unusual activity.
• Taking detailed notes to investigate incidents promptly and accurately.
• Establishing positive relationships with transit police, business owners, and community members.
• Engaging with the public and responding to their concerns and inquiries.

Must-Haves

• You hold a valid BC security license.
• Basic First Aid Certificate.
• Advanced Security Training Certificate.
• You have a minimum of 2 years experience in a security position, ideally in a similar environment.
• You have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• You have proven experience dealing with various members of the public.
• You have proven time-management and organizational skills.
• Be physically able to conduct extensive foot patrols, and to spend your shift up on your feet.
• De-escalation certification.
• Naxalone Training certification.
